Teaching
Philosophy

As a voice teacher, I seek to cultivate authenticity and confidence in my students above all else. Vocal technique is there for the purpose of finding expression and connection. Each of my students is an individual with their own needs, experiences, and goals. It is my job to meet each of these students where they are and to help them in their journeys. I listen and adapt so that I can address the person in front of me. There is no one-size-fits-all approach for the voice.

It is important to me that my studio is a place where my students feel safe to explore their voices, where they can take risks, and where we can have fun together. I am passionate about making my studio a joyful, loving place. It is easy to get caught up in what is not working in the voice, but I find it crucial to focus on what is already working for the student and find ways to grow that.

I am invested in my students’ potential. I care about each of them deeply. I yearn for their success and happiness. I believe in the beauty, power, and vulnerability of their voices. I am grateful for the deep connection that singing together affords us.
